had the best time. the coach was comfy, our guide Nastachia & driver (forgot his real name but his nickname is Teddy Bear) were amazing. absolutely loved the nuggets of info abt Italian culture shared through out the trip. Pace was good, not too fast for the oldies and not too slow for the young ones. Sufficient toilet breaks and snack stops too. the meeting point is accessible with both metro and bus options, and there’s also a taxi rank nearby if that’s preferred.
This trip is a full day trip at least 14hrs but totally worth it. The tour guide Antone was very detailed znd funny. Will recommend this your to those making day trip from Rome.
Our guide Patrezia was amazing. She communicated clearly on what to expect during the day trip and also prepared us on info on transportation options available when we returned at night after the day trip. The Pompeii guide (Claudia?) was also very knowledgeable, passionate and also very respectful of the history of the town. Great tour!
Guide was very professional and ensured we maximise our visit
Whilst Pompeii visit was great and tour guide was excellent ; the time to get to Sorrento after to find most shops closed and that we actually weren’t going to Amalfi Coast Positano was disappointing . Made worse by a morbidly obese man hanging out in the aisle as he couldn’t fit all in one seat which meant my wife had to tolerate him quite literally hanging off her right shoulder for the entire trip .
We enjoyed most of the tour. It is a very long day and a lot of transit time on the bus, and unfortunately we ended up in seats that were very short on leg room (and when the guy in front of me reclined it became worse) Our guide for the day was the adorable Laura. She was sweet and exuberant. She kept us updated with what to expect and did a fine job. The bus driver was awesome (Sergio I believe) When you get to the Amalfi Coast you want a good driver to handle those hairpin turns. At Pompeii we were led by a local expert guide, Elena. She was excellent. She set a great pace as she took us through to see the most important sights (that limited time would allow) She told wonderful stories and shared history in an entertaining way. The stop in Sorrento was lovely. Laura led us from the parking area to town center for 2 hours of free time. It is a very nice place to visit. The loss of the star is for the other activity, The Lemoncello Tasting/factory. I think the main issue was that that were 3 other buses that arrived at the same time. We were guided down a hallway then told to stay to the left side for the tastings, or move to the right to use the restroom. Unfortunately as we approached around 20 people exited the restroom and pushed us out of the way so we never actually got to taste anything. The place was also a gift shop and was so jammed full of people that it was unpleasant and I just needed to escape the space. There WAS a beautiful view of the Amalfi Coast from the terrace but that same crowd showed up there too. The other issue was the "rest stop" about an hour and a half outside of Rome. We stopped going and returning. It was packed with other buses, the lines for food and beverage service were very long, it appeared some refurbishment was underway and the restrooms were filthy (and worn out) The primary reasons for the tour were great, but the extras fell short.
