Highlights
Meet the playful Australian Fur Seals on our immersive 90-minute Seal Swim
Snorkelling Tour in Port Phillip Bay.
Hop aboard Bluebird , our purpose-built 7-metre dive vessel, and head
into the Port Phillip Heads Marine National Park for an unforgettable
snorkelling encounter with wild Australian Fur Seals.
All snorkelling equipment is provided, including warm wetsuits, masks, fins,
and full safety instruction. No prior snorkelling experience is required.
With a maximum of just nine guests per tour , this small-group experience
offers a highly personal, semi-private encounter with minimal environmental
impact.
Along the way, you’ll also encounter other residents of the marine national
park, including seabirds and reef fish from the Great Southern Reef.
Perfect for individuals, families, or groups on a tight timeline who don’t
want to compromise on experience.
SELECTED WEEKENDS AND SUMMER HOLIDAYS*
A MINIMUM OF 4 PARTICIPANTS IS REQUIRED FOR THE TOUR TO PROCEED
ALL SEAL SWIM TOURS (1.5hrs) WILL BE RUN ON OUR R.I.B. VESSEL - PICTURED ABOVE
Please note: There is a $10 environmental levy included as part of the price
of this tour. This levy helps us help our oceans and will be put towards any
of the following programs and research through our partnership charity SOEL
(Southern Ocean Environmental Link):
Plastic recycling education programs – funding will help us purchase more plastic recycling machinery for use within our recycling programs, facilitate our education sessions for school age children, and go toward community plastic reduction efforts.
A Port Phillip Bay wide dolphin population study, utilising machine-based learning marine identification camera systems.
Port Phillip Bay Seal Watch program – mapping the movement trends of Australian Fur Seals within Port Phillip Bay Haul Out sites.
Marine pest (Northern Pacific Seastar) eradication study utilising machine-based learning identification systems.
An investigation into the effects of ecotourism experiences on young people’s awareness and attitude toward marine conservation.
We will also use these funds to invest in an accessibility hoist for Queenscliff Harbour, and in doing so create the first readily available accessibility point for marine tourism within Port Phillip Bay.
