Itinerary

  • Playa Balandra

Set out from La Paz for a private boat adventure across the Sea of Cortez, where desert landscapes meet brilliant turquoise water. Your first destination is San Rafaelito, a reef home to a colony of sea lions. Observe them in their natural habitat, then snorkel among colorful marine life. Continue to spectacular Balandra Bay, a protected natural area home to one of the world's most beautiful beaches. Discover white-sand beaches, shallow turquoise waters and rust-colored desert hills—the contrast between desert and sea is stunning. Step ashore at a secluded beach and enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the turquoise bay. After lunch, grab a paddleboard and glide along the shallow coastline, take another swim, or lay back on a beach chair and enjoy this extraordinary setting. Then board your private boat for the scenic journey back to La Paz, enjoying one last look at Balandra's turquoise waters and the desert coastline of the Sea of Cortez—a beautiful ending to a day of sea lions, snorkeling and one of Mexico's most spectacular beaches. Certain swimming restrictions may apply during summer due to the sea lions' breeding season. Snorkeling may take place at a different site.
