Begin your adventure by heading towards the rugged and breathtaking Kalbarri
National Park, passing the Ross Graham lookout and along the entire length of
the Murchison River Gorges. The river has carved through the sandstone,
revealing steep rock faces with stunning white, red, and purple layers.

Fly over iconic formations such as Hawkeshead, Little Z Bend, Big Z Bend, and
Four Ways, where the river creates a fascinating pattern with two large cuts
coming from opposite directions. Continue over the loop, taking in Murchison
House Station, and follow the river to the mouth as you approach Kalbarri
town. At cliff-top height, marvel at the Coastal Cliffs with their striking
red sedimentary rock colours. Then, experience the unique Pink Lake at Hutt
Lagoon, a dramatic spectacle that stands out vividly against its surroundings.
The lake’s pink hue is caused by carotenoid-producing algae Dunaliella salina,
a rich source of beta-carotene and vitamin A. Covering approximately 70 square
kilometres, the lake lies a few metres below sea level and is fed by marine
waters through springs.
