Our first stop at turquoise waters just before the small fishing village of Kitries. Nestled along the azure waters of the Messenian Gulf, Kitries is a postcard-perfect destination with colorful fishing boats bobbing gently in the harbor. Here we are having our first anchorage stop. You can't resist taking a dip in the sea!

We are having a closeby coastal cruise at Kardamyli village and we cross through the Meropi island channel. A few words about Kardamyli: nestled on the scenic Mani Peninsula in Messinia, is a captivating village that harmoniously blends history, natural beauty, and cultural charm. Characterized by stone-built houses, adorned with vibrant bougainvillea, the village exudes a traditional ambiance. Its focal point is the old town with cobblestone streets, offering glimpses into the region's rich past. The imposing towers, including the renowned Mourtzinos Tower, stand as silent witnesses to centuries of history. Kardamyli's location against the backdrop of the Taygetos Mountains and overlooking the deep blue waters of the Messenian Gulf creates a stunning setting. Beyond its historical allure, Kardamyli is a haven for nature enthusiasts and hikers. The nearby Viros Gorge and the coastal path to Agia Sofia showcase the region's diverse landscapes, from lush greenery to panoramic sea views.

We anchor at Porto Kalamitsi bay, a beach with crystal turquoise water and light pebble. The scenery is enriched by the tall cypress trees and the total green landscape. At this point our local food delicacies are served. Cold cuts, fruits wine and beverages as well. Enjoy!

We continue our trip to Foneas caves, an interesting rock formation and a cave that you can swim inside. Small stretch of rocky sand in a protected cove, with caves to explore & cliffs for diving. Foneas Beach in Messinia, Greece, is a hidden gem along the southern Peloponnese coastline.
