Must Know
- The name and country of residence on the booking must match exactly with the passport used for travel.
- Bookings must be made before entering Japan.
- The date selected during booking is your intended departure date, not the activation date of the pass.
- Exchange Orders must be redeemed for a physical JR Pass at an official exchange office in Japan within 90 days of issuance.
- Once exchanged, the pass must be activated within 30 days.
Eligibility
- Valid only for non-Japanese passport holders with a ‘Temporary Visitor’ visa status.
- Japanese citizens residing outside Japan for 10+ years may be eligible with official documentation from a Japanese embassy.
- Japanese residents and permanent residents are not eligible.
Child Policy
- Adult: 13–99 years old.
- Child: 4–12 years old (child rail pass required).
- Children under 12 months: Free of charge.
- Up to two children (aged 1–5) may travel free when accompanied by an adult, provided they do not occupy a seat. A separate child pass is required for additional children.
What to Bring
- Valid passport with Temporary Visitor stamp.
- Exchange Order voucher (physical copy only).
- Printed confirmation and valid ID for verification.

Booking Confirmation
- Your booking will be confirmed instantly upon payment.

Cancellation Policy
- Non-refundable once redeemed or used in Japan.
- Unused Exchange Orders may be refunded within 30 days of booking, provided the physical order is returned.
- Refunds are subject to a 30% cancellation fee.
- No compensation for lost, stolen, or damaged Exchange Orders.
Voucher Use
- Present your Exchange Order and passport at an official JR Exchange Office in Japan to redeem your physical JR Rail Pass.
- This mobile voucher cannot be used directly for boarding.

Despite a delay in sending the physical JR exchange voucher, had to self-collect the voucher on day of travel. The JR pass is useful, cost effective and easy to move about in Hokkaido.
