[Southern Barossa: 10-Minute Scenic Flight]
Take off from the scenic Hoffnungsthal Valley and track toward Rowland Flat,
where the landscape opens to reveal Jacob’s Creek Winery’s striking “tank
farm.” With some tanks holding up to 1.4 million litres, it’s an impressive
sight from the air. The flight then continues across the southern Barossa,
passing over Lyndoch, near Cockatoo Valley, and on toward the iconic
Whispering Wall.

Lift off and leave Hoffnungsthal Valley behind as you track toward Rowland
Flat, where sweeping vineyard views lead you to Jacob’s Creek Winery’s
impressive “tank farm.” Some of these massive tanks hold up to 1.4 million
litres of wine—among the largest in the region.
From there, continue across the southern Barossa, passing Lyndoch and nearby
Cockatoo Valley before crossing over the Whispering Wall. The flight then
follows the creek line up toward the South Para and Warren Reservoirs, before
turning back via Williamstown, where sweeping views of the southern Barossa
Ranges bring the experience to a memorable close.
[Western Ridge and Valley Floor: 20-Minute Scenic Flight]
Take to the skies from Hoffnungsthal Valley and head toward the charming
township of Lyndoch, before tracing the western ridge of the Barossa toward
Seppeltsfield. Along the way, take in rolling hills lined with vineyards and
the striking palm tree-lined roads that make this stretch so iconic. From
Seppeltsfield, continue on to Nuriootpa, where you can spot Maggie Beer’s farm
and the renowned Penfolds winery. As you pass overhead Tanunda, admire the
character-filled skyline—home to historic buildings like Chateau Tanunda and a
collection of beautiful old churches. From there, track toward Rowland Flat to
see Jacob’s Creek Winery’s enormous “tank farm,” where some tanks hold up to
1.4 million litres of wine. The flight then carries on toward the southern
Barossa, passing Lyndoch near Cockatoo Valley and gliding over the impressive
Whispering Wall before returning.

Start your journey above Hoffnungsthal Valley and make your way toward the
township of Lyndoch, before following the Barossa’s western ridge in the
direction of Seppeltsfield. Along this stretch, you’ll take in rolling hills
wrapped in vineyards and the region’s signature palm-lined roads.
Continuing on, the flight leads you to Nuriootpa, where landmarks like Maggie
Beer’s farm and the iconic Penfolds winery come into view. From there, head
toward Stockwell to spot the Wolf Blass Winery, along with a lime quarry near
Angaston—home to Yalumba, Cornerstone, and the McEvoy-Mitchell horse studs.
Passing overhead Tanunda, enjoy a closer look at the character-filled
landscape, featuring the historic Chateau Tanunda and a collection of striking
old churches. The route then carries on toward Rowland Flat, where you can
take in the scale of Jacob’s Creek Winery’s impressive “tank farm,” with some

To finish, track toward the southern end of the Barossa, passing Lyndoch near
Cockatoo Valley and gliding over the remarkable Whispering Wall before
