Inside Hell’s Museum at Haw Par Villa Singapore
Are you looking for a one-of-a-kind cultural space in the Lion City? Well, then, it's your cue to enter Hell’s Museum Singapore. Located inside the Haw Par Villa theme park (formerly known as Tiger Balm Garden), this is the world's first museum dedicated to death and the afterlife. Here, traditions, rituals, and the world’s major belief systems around dying take centre stage. Whether it's Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, or Islam, explore every community's belief system on what it means to die. In terms of a local perspective, understand how land-scarce Singapore manages death practices, from void deck funerals to columbariums.
Explore the 10 Courts of Hell
Before visiting the museum, ticket holders can explore Haw Par Villa's iconic dioramas based on Chinese mythology. One particular highlight is the infamous Ten Courts of Hell, the Chinese underworld where a King of Hell (Yanluo) judges souls based on their deeds. Crimes are judged based on graphic representations, and visitors can connect their visit from the outdoor sculpture garden to the indoor, air-conditioned section, which comes with engaging audio-visual and multimedia exhibits.

A good and insightful experience. The place offers informative exhibits and explanations about death and the afterlife. Living in a society with diverse religions and cultures, I found it helpful in providing basic knowledge and understanding of different beliefs, allowing us to better relate to our friends, colleagues, and the wider community.
Easy to use app, and family members can enjoy use this app when booking tickets
The staff here are absolutely wonderful—extremely nice, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. They even took extra time out of their day to share some fascinating history and stories with us, which made the visit so much more meaningful. The exhibits are incredibly unique, but it’s the top-notch hospitality that really made the experience memorable. Highly recommend!
The Hell's Museum was great! Tour guide Pei Si was really nice! Unfortunately, many of the exhibits are undergoing restoration now but that means I'll be visiting them again once restoration works have been completed!
Staff were amazing, so enthusiastic and clearly have such a passion for educating us. Great experience and will absolutely recommend!!
