Experience a 60-minute sunrise hot air balloon flight over Southeast
Queensland with Floating Images, Brisbane's closest ballooning operator
located just 30 minutes west of the city. Drift peacefully above a stunning
mix of city skylines, suburban landscapes, river systems, rolling farmland and
the scenic regions of Ipswich, the Scenic Rim and Somerset. Watch the world
come alive below you in the soft morning light as you float silently with the
wind.
Your flight is hosted by a Chief Pilot with over 34 years of flying experience
and more than 24 years operating in the region. Enjoy expert in-flight
commentary throughout your journey, offering insights into ballooning, weather
conditions, flight paths and the landscapes below.
This is a full behind-the-scenes ballooning experience, including the
traditional inflation of the balloon before flight and the landing and pack-
down process afterward—an authentic part of the adventure.
After landing, receive a commemorative flight certificate and enjoy the option
of a hearty breakfast at a local restaurant, the perfect way to reflect on
your sunrise experience.

Duration: Please allow approximately 3 to 4 hours for the full experience including briefing, inflation, flight, landing, pack-down, return logistics and breakfast (optional).

- Children aged 6–12 years must be accompanied by an adult. Children must be able to see over the edge of the basket which is 1.2 meters high for safety reasons.
Children/ Infants under 6 years are not allowed to fly as per the Australian aviation rules - Please note the weights of each passenger in the Requests & Remarks section when booking.
- Please advise the booking office if you are over 85kg or have any medical issues. Participants over 110kg may incur a 50% surcharge payable directly to the supplier. Maximum individual weight limit is 130kg.
- Aviation regulations require that all passengers are able to embark and disembark a balloon basket unassisted for safety reasons
- Pregnant individuals are not permitted to take part in this experience
- All passengers must complete and sign a standard company Registration, Medical Check and Assumption of Risk form before the flight
- In the event that minimum numbers are not met, the experience provider reserves the right to reschedule your experience for a later date
- The flight path is subject to change without notice depending on wind speed with the decision being made by the pilot with the safety of passengers in mind
- The flight time can slightly alter on the morning or be postponed, should the weather conditions hinder the safety of the balloon flight
- Please wear comfortable layers of outdoor clothing to match the season, a hat and sturdy shoes for the morning dew. No open foot wear or high heels are permitted. Dress as though you are going for a bush walk.
