Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre (WHC) in Nigeria. This sacred forest attracts a large number of tourists as it is definitely worth visiting.
Located in Central Nigeria, the Sacred Grove of Osun Osogbo is a forest sanctuary situated along the Osun River.
Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove covers an area of 75 hectares and is regarded as the abode of the Yoruba goddess of fertility, Osun. The Osun- Osogbo Sacred Grove is one of the vast undisturbed areas of land in Africa.
The restoration of the grove by artists has given the grove a new importance as it has become a sacred place for the whole of Yorubaland and a symbol of identity for the wider Yoruba Diaspora. The Grove is an active religious site where daily, weekly and monthly worship takes place.
