Depart from Guayaquil at approximately 7:30 AM and travel to the traditional fishing village of Puerto El Morro, one of the most important wildlife areas on Ecuador’s coast. Upon arrival, board a boat and navigate through the estuary and mangrove ecosystem. During the excursion, observe wild bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat and learn about the importance of the mangroves for local biodiversity and traditional fishing communities. The area is home to numerous bird species including frigatebirds, herons, pelicans, cormorants, ibises and other coastal birds. Along the journey, enjoy beautiful natural scenery and learn about the local culture and fishing traditions, including the harvesting of mangrove crab, an important economic activity in the region. After the boat excursion, enjoy lunch before continuing along the Ruta del Sol to Salinas. Arrive in the afternoon at approximately 3:00 PM and check in at your hotel.
