• The Tha Phae Gate is like the city square of Chiang Mai
• The Wat Pantao is one of the older temples of Chiang Mai in the old walled center of the city, likely built towards the end of the 14th century. It’s known for its exquisite Lanna-style ordination hall made of teakwood, which served as a throne hall during the reign of King Mahotara Prateth
• The Wat Phra Singh was built in 1345, the temple is located on Sam Lan Road. An image of Phra Phuttha Sihing, North Thailand’s most revered Buddha statue, is enshrined in Vihan Lai Kham
• The Wat Chiang Man is the oldest Temple in Chiang Mai, built in 1296 by King Mengrai of the Lanna kingdom. Its chedi (or stupa, a Buddhist ceremonial burial mound) is supported by rows of elephant-shaped buttresses. The Lanna-style ordination hall enshrines an ancient Buddha image named Phra Kaew Khao, revered by Chiang Mai locals
