This is undoubtedly one of the best dive sites in the Gulf of Thailand. SAIL ROCK DIVE SITE This large pinnacle (which begins above sea level) provides a superb wall dive effect. Together with a number of surrounding smaller pinnacles, Sail Rock offers an amazingly varied topography. One of the most famous features of Sail Rock is probably its chimney. Here you can swim into the rock at 18m, up through the vertical chimney and exit either at 12m or 8m. MARINE LIFE With a variety of large pelagic fish including Barracuda and Mackerel, they form huge schools around the rock. Present on the rock itself is an incredibly varied ecosystem formed by countless species of fish. Groupers, Wrasse, Snapper, Batfish, Angelfish and Damselfish can all be seen at Sail Rock. Numerous interesting species of marine life such as Scorpionfish, Moray Eels, Shrimps, Nudibranchs and Sea Slugs can also be found both on the wall and amongst the corals. If you are really lucky, you might get to meet Sail Rock’s resident Whale Sharks!
