SHOZAN Resort
Located in the Rakuhoku area of Kyoto, SHOZAN Resort is nestled against the
Takagamine mountains. Far from the bustling city center, it is a rare and
tranquil sightseeing spot in Kyoto that is gaining popularity. The resort
boasts a vast 35,000-tsubo site, with gardens covering one-third of the total
area.Kyoto Maiko
Maiko are apprentice Geiko (Geisha) in Japan, typically aged between 14 and- They primarily entertain guests at banquets with Japanese dance, music,
and instrument performances. The training for a Maiko is extensive and
rigorous, covering culture, etiquette, language, attire, poetry, and music.
Every movement and word is strictly disciplined, reflecting grace and
composure. During this tour, the Maiko will perform in your dining hall. Be
sure to have your camera ready so you do not miss any spectacular moments!
※Due to the pandemic, photos with the Maiko will be taken from a distance of
approximately 1 meter for the time being, and the Maiko will not be wearing a
mask.
- Night View from Higashiyama Summit
The beautiful cityscape of Kyoto unfolds before your eyes, where you can see
the Kyoto Tower shining like a lighthouse across the city. As an ancient
capital, Kyoto lacks excessive high-rise buildings, making the night view from
the summit appear as soft and brilliant as a shimmering ocean.
※Due to weather or traffic conditions, the night view observation may be
changed to a city bus tour.
- Kyoto-style Kaiseki Cuisine
Japanese Kaiseki cuisine emphasizes the seasonality and freshness of
ingredients, as well as the presentation, aiming for both variety and visual
appeal. The Kyoto-style Kaiseki enjoyed at SHOZAN is meticulously prepared
using locally sourced Kyoto ingredients, reflecting the light, elegant, and
refined style of Kyoto.

A tad expensive. Food was soso. Scenery also soso. Take note that the tour guide couldn’t speak English. Just mainly a maiko experience with the rest quite meh
