Highlights

Discover the Wonders of the Ocean at Resorts World Sentosa

Good news — the Singapore Oceanarium is officially opening on 24 July after a major renovation of the former S.E.A. Aquarium, and we’re so ready for it. Located at Resorts World Sentosa, the Oceanarium will be open daily from 10am to 7pm, giving visitors plenty of time to explore everything this incredible new attraction has to offer.

Now three times bigger than before, this leading ocean institute features 22 immersive zones that take you from the coast to the deep sea — and even back in time. It’s designed to spark knowledge, love, and action for our oceans through a mix of live habitats, interactive tech, and powerful storytelling.

Don’t miss Ocean Wonders, where thousands of moon jellies glide through one of the world’s largest Kreisel habitats — an exhibit that’s truly mesmerising. Over at Open Ocean, you’ll come face-to-face with zebra sharks and reef manta rays behind a jaw-dropping 36-metre viewing panel. Snap a photo or just soak in the experience — either way, it’s unforgettable.

New Research and Learning Centre

Beyond the displays, this new Sentosa Oceanarium is also driving real action. It’s partnering with top local institutions to advance ocean education and conservation, including a five-year research collaboration with the National University of Singapore and a two-year initiative with Nanyang Technological University and its Earth Observatory. As vice president Lam Xue Ying puts it, it’s all about creating a new wave of ocean stewards.

“We are dedicated to inspiring a new generation of ocean stewards by taking ocean education and interactive storytelling to the next level, through naturalistic habitats and immersive technology,” said Ms Lam.

One of its new spaces is the on-site Research and Learning Centre, a key part of this mission. Fully solar-powered and certified as a Green Mark Platinum Zero Energy Building, this smart, sustainable learning centre is built for climate resilience, community outreach, sustainability, and collaborative research — perfectly designed to one of Earth’s most pressing challenges: protecting our oceans.

  • Mission-Driven Marine Institute: Located at Resorts World Sentosa, the Oceanarium is dedicated to inspiring ocean awareness, education, and action through cutting-edge exhibits and programs.
  • Trusted Global Alliances: Accredited by AZA and a member of WAZA and SEAZA, it maintains strong institutional partnerships, reinforcing its role in global marine conservation.
  • Immersive Learning Experiences: Blending live habitats, ocean storytelling, and interactive technology, it bridges marine science with real-world application to foster meaningful understanding.
  • Sustainable Innovation Hub: Home to a solar-powered Research and Learning Centre certified as a Green Mark Platinum Zero Energy building, emphasizing research, outreach, and eco-conscious design.

My daughters said it was the best two hours spent so far. The big dome was a highlight, we had fun spotting the Mantas by their names, so was the gift store. My youngest had a change of mind with a gift she bought and the refund process was easy, fuss free and helped by wonderful and friendly staffs. Recommended for a memorable family outing!
