After british captured Dar es Salaam from the Germans during World War -1, they built a depot for their carrier corps no longer needed, the Governor allowed the building to be used as a market, hence the name "Carrier Corps Market" and Swahili speaker pronounce the name as "Kariakoo". 30 minsAdmission Ticket IncludedAfter Kariakoo Market you will pass through Uhuru torch monument at Mnazi Mmoja area, Dar es Salaam old Boma then you will reach to Roman Catholic Cathedral overlooking the harbour. St. Joseph is the first Roman Catholic Cathedral in Mainland Tanzania. The main building took five years to complete, 1897-1902, and was consecrated on October 15,1908. It is artistically constructed in Gothic style with shingled spire, a vaulted interior and carved relief above the main altar. The interior still retains the original German inscriptions.Askari Monument

The Museum features around twenty traditional houses representing the over 120 ethnic groups found in Tanzania. The houses includes furnished huts, cattle pens and meeting places.
