〇Majestic Scenery
Enjoy a front-row seat to the untouched beauty of the Shiretoko Peninsula, a World Heritage site. Take in the dynamic cliffs and majestic landscapes that can only be fully appreciated from the sea.
〇Unique Wildlife Ecosystem
Shiretoko is a paradise for wildlife. Look out for brown bears and Yezo sika deer roaming the coastline, or white-tailed eagles and Steller's sea eagles soaring in the sky above this unique ecosystem.
〇Thrilling Marine Encounters
Feel the vibrant life of the ocean as you spot dolphins and seals swimming in the waves, or seabird colonies resting on rocky outcroppings.
If you're lucky enough, you might just spot some adorable little dolphins out at sea!
The Shiretoko Peninsula is also a paradise for wildlife. Birds and mammals—such as brown bears, Yezo sika deer, Ezo red foxes, white-tailed eagles, Steller's sea eagles, and Blakiston's fish owls—have built a unique ecosystem here. The surrounding seas are inhabited by seals and dolphins, while colonies of slaty-backed gulls, black-tailed gulls, and Japanese cormorants can be found scattered across the rocky outcroppings. If you are lucky, you might just encounter these animals while taking in the majestic scenery.
〇Route Introduction
-Secret ground Shiretoko route :
This 3-hour and 45-minute cruise takes you to the very tip of the Shiretoko Peninsula—Cape Shiretoko—an area completely inaccessible by land. Because it is a longer journey, you will be treated to exclusive, breathtaking landscapes that can only be witnessed from the sea.
-Kamuiwakka waterfall route:
This 1-hour and 30-minute cruise turns around at the Kamuiwakka Falls, located near the midpoint of the peninsula. Although it is a shorter trip, it safely covers the main highlights of Shiretoko, making it highly recommended for visitors who have a packed schedule of various activities.
-Rusha Bay route:
This 2-hour cruise takes you further past the Kamuiwakka Falls, turning around at Rusha Bay. This route operates exclusively on the small boat Aurora 3. Because there is a very high probability of spotting wild brown bears in this area, it is often referred to as a "brown bear sanctuary."
Note: Please be aware that because these are wild animals, you may not always see wildlife or marine life during this Shiretoko sightseeing cruise. Thank you for your understanding
