Highlights
Lined with rows of traditional Hanok houses, the picturesque Bukchon Hanok Village is a tourist destination so popular, it's a wonder how so many visitors haven't truly seen it beyond its reputation as a photo zone. It's easy to get lost in the mazes of clay and stone of this miniature Joseon-era Seoul, but just follow your Seoul Insider guide, travel blogger and founder of The Soul of Seoul, Hallie on an immersive walking tour through the stunning backstreets of downtown Seoul.
Get whisked away to a quiet tea house to delve into a discussion of culture and more. Originally home to high-ranking government officials and nobility of the Joseon Dynasty, discover more about how traditional culture has shaped modern life in Korea in this historical residential neighbourhood – a true living museum.
See Seoul from Hallie's unique perspective of living in Korea for 15 years as an expat, embracing traditional culture in her Korean husband's family as the country rapidly adapts and changes with modern times.

Shawn is extremely knowledgeable in the folklore and one can tell he is deeply passionate about the subject. The walk was informative and intimate and placed context in some of the things I saw on the daily wlking about Seoul. The only thing I'll point out is that good thing I saw this on their official website because the one in Pelago is not updated and incorrect. It is a night tour in the Gwanghuamun area and not Bukchon (likely due to the recent curfews), and there's no tea session.
