A Morning in Paradise
Your day begins with Altitude Tour's Glenorchy & Paradise Explorer. Start with
a spectacular scenic drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy along the lake edge
where you will enjoy scenic photo spots and entertaining stories from your
local guide about Lake Whakatipu and its legends.
Arrive in Glenorchy and explore the lakefront including the iconic red boat
shed, before continuing up toward Diamond Lake and Paradise. Take in the
incredible snow-capped views over the Dart and Rees Rivers while your guide
sets up a uniquely Kiwi morning tea to enjoy, and optional costumes to
recreate your favourite movie scene photo.
Take a Break
You will be dropped back in Glenorchy to enjoy free time, with the opportunity
to visit a local cafe for lunch, take a short walk by the lakeside, or pick up
a local souvenir from Mrs Woolly's General Store.
An Afternoon on the Dart River
That afternoon, Dart River Wilderness Jet will host you for a spectacular two-
hour jet boat ride on the Dart River into the heart of the world-renowned Mt
Aspiring National Park and The Wāhipounamu UNESCO World Heritage Area. Their
highly experienced drivers will showcase the area's fascinating history, the
Greenstone trail, and Māori legends, covering 90 km of river. Throughout the
jet boat experience, your driver will take you on a short walk in the national
park, allowing you to see further into this remote area, and learn about the
flora, fauna, and history.
Upon returning to Glenorchy, Dart River Adventures will transport you back to
Queenstown by van, dropping you off in the town centre, or near your
accommodation.

After your morning tour, we will book you onto the fantastic Dart River
Wilderness Jet. This experience is subject to availability and we are in the
process of organising this for you. We will reach out should we have any
questions.
Dress for the occasion:
We recommend you bring with you a warm jacket, comfortable shoes for walking
and if traveling in winter, gloves and a warm hat.
Pick Up Location:
Meet us in the heart of Queenstown town centre, outside the Station Building.
Look out for our friendly guide in a Mercedes van by the bus stop at 43 Camp
Street, right by the bench seats outside the Marmolada Cafe. Aim to get there
10 minutes before the departure time, and that way we can head off on tour
without any delay.
Morning Tea:
During the tour, you will have the chance to tuck into a morning tea, filled
with local treats and iconic Kiwi style snacks. If you have any dietary
preference, let us know, and we'll whip up some fantastic alternatives for
you.
Stay Hydrated and Eco-Friendly:
We're all about keeping things green! Please bring a trusty water bottle with
you, as we've taken the eco-conscious step of ditching single-use plastic.
