Choose between a kayak or a SUP board and explore at your own pace. Before you leave, our team will give you a route briefing, safety information and local tips. The route begins on the Arade River, ideal for beginners, families or anyone looking for a relaxed paddling experience. From the water, enjoy views of Ferragudo and São João do Arade Fort. Stop at Praia Grande for a drink or snack, or take a break on one of the quieter river beaches. If sea conditions are suitable, you may continue towards the ocean, passing Pintadinho Beach, Ponta do Altar Lighthouse and a beautiful sea cave with crystal-clear water and dramatic Algarve cliffs. Kayaks are suitable for up to 2 people (max.195kg). SUP boards are for one person only. Life vests are included and are mandatory. Please note : access to the ocean and sea cave depends on sea conditions, including wind, waves and tides. Before departure, our team will let you know if it is possible and advisable to continue towards the ocean. The river route is calmer and more sheltered, making it a great option when the ocean part is not recommended. This is a self-guided experience, not a guided tour.
