- Attractions Introduction -
【Noboribetsu Hell Valley】
Noboribetsu Jigokudani is a remnant of a volcanic crater, a mysterious valley
formed by lava from a volcanic eruption. Jigokudani is not only a must-see
attraction in Noboribetsu, but also symbolizes the source of Noboribetsu
Onsen. Home to over a dozen different hot springs, each with its own distinct
characteristics, it's often called the "department store of hot springs." The
air is thick with the stench of sulfur, creating a scene reminiscent of hell.
Despite its barren landscape, the springs flowing from Jigokudani are known
for their therapeutic properties, boasting a flow rate of up to 3,000 liters
per minute, making it Noboribetsu's largest source. The water quality varies
greatly depending on the location, reaching as many as 11 different types.
Water extraction in Jigokudani dates back over a century.
For guests choosing Option A, you can relax in an authentic Japanese hot
spring bath at the Dai-ichi Takimotokan(tickets must be purchased on-site, and
towel rental is included, so you don't need to bring your own). Alternatively,
explore every corner of Jigokudani and immerse yourself in the natural
wonders. Don't forget to stop by the Oyunuma River natural footbath for a
unique and relaxing experience.
【Otaru Canal】
Stroll along the Otaru Canal and experience the charm of this historic
waterway, built in 1912. The old warehouses lining its banks evoke a nostalgic
atmosphere. It's like stepping back in time to the glory days of the Meiji and
Taisho eras, and experiencing the romance and history of Hokkaido's port city!
【Otaru】
Stroll through Otaru, where white cruise ships slowly sail through the harbor,
the shimmering waters sparkle, and Otaru Harbor quietly tells the story of
Hokkaido's four seasons. The Miffy Bunny and Hello Kitty dessert cafe on the
corner are even more adorable! Step into the romantic Music Box Hall, where
ballerinas, animals, and carousels dance to the rhythmic sounds, and it's like
stepping into a miniature fairytale. Savor fresh seafood, and every bite is a
gift from the sea, the flavors of the ocean blossoming on your tongue!
[Otaru Music Box Museum European-style Steam Clock]
The steam clock at the entrance of the Otaru Music Box Museum, built in 1977
and originating from Canada, is one of only two remaining in the world. Every
hour, steam billows and the melodious chimes echo, transporting you back in
time. The interweaving of vintage machinery and romantic streetscapes allows
you to experience the charm of Otaru at every turn!
【White Lover Park】
Shiroi Koibito is a well-known Hokkaido souvenir. Step into Shiroi Koibito
Park and be enveloped by the rich aroma of chocolate. Shiroi Koibito cookies
and milk ice cream bring a sweet and warm winter to your day! The factory,
adorned with elegant European-style architecture, comes alive every hour like
a musical carnival, transporting you to a Hokkaido fairytale world!
