Highlights

Istanbul is one of the most fascinating metropolises in the world and the largest metropolis in Europe. Since the city is filled with around 30 million people (holiday season), you can sometimes lose your bearings. Our philosophy at German Trips is to offer our customers the best possible travel experience. For us, this includes above all high quality and excellent service. Unlike almost every travel guide, we will not take you on the European side, but we will show you the Asian side. We want our customers to feel completely comfortable and in good hands, regardless of whether they book a city trip, an active holiday or a round trip. That is why we attach great importance to personal advice and support for our customers. We listen carefully to understand your individual wishes and needs and can thus put together tailor-made trips. We are a team that speak perfect German because we were born and grew up in Germany.

After breakfast at Yakamoz Cafe or Erbab in Istanbul Cengelkoy, we will visit Beylerbeyi Palace. Beylerbeyi Palace was commissioned by Sultan Abdülaziz (1830–1876) and built between 1861 and 1865 as a summer residence and place to entertain visiting heads of state. Empress Eugenie of France visited Beylerbeyi on her way to the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869. Empress Eugenie of France was so amazed by the elegance of the palace that she made a copy of the window in the guest room for her bedroom in the Tuileries (palace in Paris). let. Naser al-Din Shah Qajar of Iran stayed at the palace while in Istanbul en route from the World Exposition (1889) in France. Other royal visitors to the palace included the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. The palace was the last place of imprisonment of the deposed Sultan Abdulhamid II from 1912 until his death there in 1918.
