Established in 1844, Mizokami Shuzo stands as a venerable sake brewery nestled in Kagekatsu-cho, Yahata-Higashi Ward, Kitakyushu City. With a storied history dating back to its founding, the brewery has become a local icon renowned for its signature sake, Tenshin. Situated at the base of Mt. Sarakura, the brewery is strategically positioned for cold brewing, enhancing the distinctive qualities of its sake. Gathering at JR Yahata station south side rotary. Free taxi dispatch service (JR Yahata Station ⇄ Mizokami Shuzo) (Taxi name: Hikari Taxi) (Taxi type: small taxi). The taxi leaves at 8:17AM, so please be on time.Mizokami Shuzo (8:30AM)

An orientation will be held on the sake production process and precautions.Brewery experience (9:00AM)
(1) Steamed rice, (2) Cooling of steamed rice, (3) Preparation (paddle work, etc.), (4) Koji making, etc. Please note that the contents may change depending on the preparation situation of the day.Sake tasting (12:00PM)

A local sake guide will take you to recommended restaurants nearby. Lunch is not included in the experience fee.Kitakyushu area guide (1:30PM)
Local guide by a local SAKE guide. You can learn about Kitakyushu's kakuuchi culture at a kakuuchi shop in Yahata Higashi Ward, climb Mt.Sarakura on the cable car and view the scenery of Kitakyushu from the summit.End Of Tour (3:30PM)

We do not rent work clothes, so please bring your own.
Please do not eat natto, natto-based dishes, mandarin oranges, or yogurt the day before and on the day of the sake brewing experience.
Do not use perfumes, cosmetics with strong fragrances, or hair styling products.
Please cut your nails short and remove any manicure or gel nails.
During the sake brewing experience, please refrain from bringing in items that may fall, such as accessories and mobile phones.
Please follow the instructions of the employees during work, as it may cause an accident.
Please note that you cannot drink alcohol if you are driving a car yourself.
The brewery staff wants you to know about the sake brewing process, so they are specially allowing you to enter the brewery and experience the sake brewing process. Please don't forget that during the experience.
