Highlights
Quality bikes to get away from it all alongside the world’s second largest natural harbour. Cycle the repurposed old railway line from Cork City to Passage West, a traffic free, cycle and pedestrian pathway. Visit Blackrock pier and village for it's relaxed atmosphere and bakeries. Admire Blackrock Castle, a 16th century castle, home to an Observatory. Opt to travel on by ferry to the harbour town of Cobh, the Titanic’s last port of call.
Itinerary
Once you have been fitted for a suitable bike, you are ready to explore Cork. Choose from one of our recommended routes or create your own.
Explore The Marina Promenade, Blackrock Pier and the Cork City to Passage West Greenway. Feeling more adventurous visit Cork’s hotspots of Cobh, Cork City or Blarney Castle. There are a variety of recommended cycle routes to suit you.
Travel the tree lined Marina Promenade alongside the world’s second largest natural harbour. Continue between native trees, shrubs and wildflowers along the Cork City to Passage West Greenway, a repurposed old railway line.
Passage West awaits at the end of the Greenway, the birthplace of Ireland’s steamship industry. Grab an outdoor coffee or ice cream at Cu Coffee at the end of the line.
Travel onwards or return? It’s decision time! Take the ferry to the town of Cobh or return and visit Blackrock Castle Observatory.
Alternatively explore the delights of Cork City or cycle to Blarney Castle and Gardens, the home of the Blarney Stone.
Your cycle ends back at the Marina Market (a 10 min walk from the city centre), Cork’s largest indoor and outdoor market with over 40 vendors and a huge choice of food with events and entertainment at the weekends.
