Highlights
One of the most intricate skills around is the Peranakan beaded design, or the kasut manek, literally translating to beaded shoes in Malay. The kasut manek is a type of shoe that dates back to the early 20th century, and it is with this workshop at Kim Choo Kueh Chang that you’ll learn the art of crafting your very own beaded shoe or slipper.
Revive the dying art of beadwork and fashion your very own kasut manek
Learn the basic skills of beadwork and admire how these beautiful beaded slippers complete a traditional Sarong Kebaya outfit
