Char Dham of Uttarakhand or Chota Char Dham (small 4 abodes)is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimages in India. It comprises of four most Holy sites of Uttarkhand namely Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. When and how these places got linked in the Pilgrimage circuit together is not known. Each of the places has its own Individual History. The Char Dham as defined by ADI SHANKARACHARYA consists of four Hindu pilgrimage sites. Char Dham yatra is believed that people can wash away their Sins if they complete Char Dham Yatra and also attain Moksha. Hindus always do Parikrama (Rotation)in the clockwise direction from left to Right. So as per Hindu Mythology Yamunotri is the first, Then Gangotri, Third Kedarnath and finally last Badrinath. Hens Badrinath is the place where one attains Moksha. Hence we visit it at the End.
