Visit two cities with this delightful one-day trip from Bangkok. During this
tour, we will venture to some historical temples in Ayutthaya and stop by the
famous monkey temple in Lopburi.

Head on to Lopburi, which is one of Thailand’s oldest cities. It has been
inhabited continuously since the Dvaravati era, which started fifteen
centuries ago. During the 10th century, Lopburi became a part of the Khmer
Empire. The Khmers built a number of impressive monuments, many of which still
exist today. During the reign of King Narai the Great in the second half of
the 17th century, Lopburi was made the second capital of the Ayutthaya
Kingdom. Experience a playful interaction with monkeys at the famous Phra
Prang Sam Yot, also known as the Monkey Temple.

Continue on to see the unique architecture of temples in Ayutthaya. This was a
kingdom that existed from 1350 to 1767 and is a fantastic destination for
culture lovers. During these four centuries, the country grew into the nation
of Siam (the former name of Thailand). It roughly occupied the territory of
modern Thailand, with the exception of the Lanna kingdom in northern Thailand.
