It's always 5 o'clock at Altitude Tours. Join the Twilight Wine & Craft Beer
Tour for an entertaining late afternoon, taste bud-tingling adventure.
Visit three unique locations around Queenstown and Gibbston for tastings of
either local wine or craft beers, and tuck into shared antipasto platters
before continuing your evening in town.
Your Taste-bud Tingling Afternoon
Meet your friendly local guide in the Queenstown town centre outside The
Station Building on Camp Street. From here we travel out and enjoy exploring
the Gibbston wine region and Queenstown, visiting a diverse range of cellar
doors offering unique collections of both local wines and craft beers.
Location One – GT Tasting
Our first stop is the GT Tasting Room at the historic Gibbston Tavern. Here,
you can sample either local wine or craft beer — both options are spectacular.
The wine is locally grown and produced, as well as the beer coming from a
small brewery just down the road. This spot is a great introduction to the
flavours of the Gibbston region, whether you’re sipping a crisp wine or a
refreshing local beer.
Location Two – Kinross
Next, we’ll head to Kinross Cellar Door, where things start to get really fun
(and flavourful). If you’re here for beer, you’ll love the selection from a
local small-batch brewery. For wine lovers, Kinross represents five boutique
wineries, offering a selection of some of the best Pinot Noirs in the world.
At this stop everyone the Kinross team will also deliver to the antipasto
platters for all to share.
**Location Three: Altitude Brewing **
Altitude Brewing is a laid-back craft brewery and taproom located at Frankton
Marina in Queenstown, right on the shores of Lake Wakatipu with views of the
Remarkables. Founded in 2013 by local brewer Eliott Menzies, it’s known for
approachable, flavour-driven beers like the Mischievous Kea IPA and for
supporting local charities through every sale. The red-shed taproom offers 12
rotating taps, food trucks, and a relaxed, community-minded vibe that has made
Altitude a favourite stop for both locals and visitors exploring Queenstown’s
growing craft-beer scene.
Locations are subject to change, however in the case where we cannot visit
one of the mentioned cellar doors, it will replaced with an equally great
location with delicious wines to taste.
Thank you so much for choosing Altitude Tours for your upcoming late afternoon
tasting adventure on our Twilight Wine & Craft Beer Tour! Get ready for an
exciting afternoon filled with delightful sips, brews and small bites around
Queenstown and Gibbston.
Pick Up Location:
Meet us in the heart of Queenstown town centre, outside the Station Building.
Look out for our friendly guide by the bus stop at 43 Camp Street, right by
the bench seats outside the Marmolada Cafe. Aim to get there 10 minutes before
the departure time, and that way we can head off on tour without any delay.
Beer or Wine?
Get ready to tantalise your taste buds across three tasting experiences, with
a shared cheese board to enjoy at the final stop. At each location you will
have the choice to do either a wine or a beer tasting of some of the finest
drops in the region. If you have any dietary preferences for the cheese board,
let us know, and we'll whip up some fantastic alternatives for you.
Bring an Accepted Form of ID:
If you appear to be under 25 years of age, you may be asked to show proof that
you are at least 18. Please bring valid ID, such as your passport or a New
Zealand Driver’s License, just in case. And if you're asked, please take it as
a compliment! Accepted forms of ID are New Zealand Driver’s License, New
Zealand Passport or International Passport, Kiwi Access Card (formerly HANZ
18+ Card). Please Note: An International Driver’s License is considered a
valid form of identification.
Stay Hydrated and Eco-Friendly:
We're all about keeping things green! Please bring a trusty water bottle with
you, as we've taken the eco-conscious step of ditching single-use plastic, or
you can make use of the complimentary water at each location we stop at.
Should you have any questions or just fancy a pre-tour chat, feel free to
reach out to us at +6434414788 or drop us an email at
