Highlights

Just the 2 of you, on your own private tour in an open-top convertible, visit the beautiful medieval town of Obidos. You will have an opportunity to wonder the narrow streets and browse the shops. You can walk the walls with amazing views of the surrounding countryside and finish of your visit drinking traditional Ginjinha de Óbidos (sour cherry brandy), which can be enjoyed in various places, preferably drunk from a small chocolate cup.
After walking the streets of Obidos, you can remain there for lunch, OR, with the roof down, drive out to the Obidos Lagoon and lunch by the beautiful beach of Foz de Arelho. Enjoy a lunch at one of the many cafes and walk the sandy beaches.
Once lunch is over, we drive to the town of Mafra with it's magnificent palace. Spend time wandering and being in awe of it's opulence before enjoying a coffee in the town.
Then it is time to return to your accommodation in Lisbon or Cascais/SIntra via the coastal road.

Itinerary

  • Obidos Village

    2 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
The medieval town of Óbidos is one of the most picturesque and well preserved in Portugal. You will find a well preserved castle within the walls, and a maze of streets and white houses that are a delight to stroll around. Santa Maria Main Church, the Misericórdia Church, the Church of São Pedro, the Pillory and, beyond the walls, the Aqueduct and the round-shaped Senhor Jesus da Pedra Sanctuary, are just some of the landmarks you could visit.. The local cuisine features bouillabaisse made with fish from the Óbidos Lagoon, which will taste even better if accompanied by the wines of the region of Oeste. Another attraction is the famous Ginjinha de Óbidos (sour cherry brandy), which can be enjoyed in various places, preferably drunk from a small chocolate cup.
  • Foz do Arelho

On the one side the Lagoon, a place of great natural beauty with its banks covered in thick vegetation and its gentle waters ideal for children and windsurfing, benefiting from the breeze that normally blows here. On the other side, the open ocean, rough but without any significant undercurrents creating excellent surfing conditions with an EU Blue Flag testifying to the quality of the waters off this beach.
