Barasu Island is a small island formed by the accumulation of white coral sand
(barasu). The sea area around Barasu Island is called Sekisei Lagoon, a
designated national park and home to one of Japan's largest and most beautiful
coral reefs. Floating on the blue sea, this uninhabited island consists only
of pure white sand and emerald blue water. The water is highly transparent and
the coral is beautiful, making it perfect for snorkeling.
