Herbiat is a small lush green island located in the Nile River near Aswan, Egypt. It is a popular spot for visitors to stop and enjoy swimming in the waters of the Nile. When we arrived on Herbiat, the first thing we noticed was the beautiful landscape with tall palm trees providing plenty of shade. Many small boats were docked along the riverbank and we could see people swimming, relaxing, and sunbathing on the sand. We walked toward the sandy area scattered with large boulders that served as perfect places to sunbathe. Children were playing and splashing in the shallow calm blue waters. It seemed a tropical oasis amidst the desert surroundings. We spent a relaxing afternoon swimming in the refreshing waters, soaking up the sun, and enjoying the peaceful scenery and natural beauty of this idyllic island escape on the Nile.
