The temple is located in the south-eastern part of the Surakhani settlement of the Absheron peninsula, 30 km away from Baku. Ateshgah is a fire temple built in the 17th-18th centuries in the place of the eternal flames of natural gas. The building won the London Design Museum award in 2014.
