One monument built a litle bit far in south of the other complex, this monument believed for the priest of the king. In Balinese legend this spring water was created by Indra God when he fighted with the Mayadenawa King. This place now very crowded with the people when the secret day for bath special ritual called in Balinese melukat. Rishi Markandeya is a Maharishi of Hinduism from the island of Java who move to Bali in 8th century. The atmosphere that is still beautiful is also presented by Gunung Kawi Temple. Right behind the temple there are forests and rice field that give a green effect. The water from the spring at the temple use to irrigate the rice field around the village.
