Highlights
Livingstone has a fair claim of some of Zambia's estimated seven hundred and fifty (750) bird species. Among the most sought after that may be sighted during our birding tours are the Taita falcon (Falco Fasciinucha), the elusive African Finfoot (Podica Senegalensis), Brown Firefinch, Schalow`s Turaco (Turaco Schalowi). Birding tours vary according to your interests.
Itinerary
In total, there are over 750 bird species in Zambia, across a range of environments. Wetland and swamp areas attract a variety of waterfowl, from herons, storks and ibises to the stately crowned and wattled cranes. Zambia's the most sought-after wetland species, the shoebill stork, is the highlight of any bird-watching break to Zambia's Bangweulu wetlands.
The birding highlights of Zambia's drier areas include the country's only truly endemic bird species, the Chaplin's barbet - with its distinctive red eye patch. Other colorful specialties in Zambia include Bohm's bee-eater, racket-tailed roller and spotted creeper.
Depending on our visitors` interests we are happy to tailor your special birding experience.he
Pick up at 6am from any lodge or hotel in Livingstone. Birding Safari duration is 3 hours depending on your tick list. Drop off after walk at your lodge or hotel.
