I highly recommend this pass. It only covers transportations. There are few train lines that doesn't include for this pass but majority of train to tourist attractions are covered through this pass. I find it very useful and had no trouble at all using it. I would suggest you download the transportation map (and print it out) rather than the apps to plan your trip from my personally opinion. Ps, this pass can also be used to travel from Kansai Airport to Osaka! You don't need to get and buy the rapit train because in my opinion the train that I took was decent and fast enough, unless you're really in a rush. You can get to Kyoto or Nara using this pass! It is really convenient. Just plan your trip well!
A good ticket to use. Convenient and value for money. I used the ticket to travel from Kyoto to Osaka, on the Hankyu Semi-express train and thenon the Modusoji subway from Osaka Umeda to Osaka Namba. I used the ticket to travel from Kyoto to Nara, but on the return leg I went up the Special Express train which has all seats reserved, and I was made to pay a top up basic fare of 550yen. One must be careful. Kyoto City bus was a great help. On the third day, the magnetic strip on the ticket could have defects as it was rejected by the bus ticket readers on a number of trips. However, the bus drivers just let me get off their buses. I think this sort of problem could occur often. My overall experience with using the ticket was excellent.
Requires a walking distance to redeem the tickets at the tourist information centre near Kyoto station, not too difficult to find the location. Was useful in unlimited usage traveling throughout Kyoto & Osaka.
Must buy if you travel inside Osaka/ Kyoto. Also can use to take train from kansai airport to/back Osaka/Kyoto but longer trip time than JR ticket.

This ticket is very worthwhile for trips that involve intercity travel. We went to Kyoto using one day of the 3 days pass. Another day we went to Himeji from Osaka. We use the 3rd day for travel between Osaka and Arima onsen.
