Itinerary
Puerto Maldonado – Eco Full Adventures – Monkey Island
Monkey Island
10 hoursAdmission Ticket IncludedAfter a great breakfast, and distributed to each traveler lunch and snacks, we will take our boat to get to the control of Tambopata National Reserve, after 1 and half hour walking through the rainnforest we are approaching to the famous Sandoval Lake, one of the largest in the Tambopata Reserve. This lake offers a spectacular view of the landscape and we will see many wild animals. Once at the lake, we will take a rowing boat ride and enjoy the wide variety of birds and monkeys such as the shanshos, (prehistoric bird), cormorants, herons, howler monkeys, squirrel monkey, black capuchin monkey, turtles. With luck we will encounter perhaps a small group of Giant Otters and caimans too. During this activity, we will spend few hours in canoe on this one of the most beautiful lakes in region. Return to the lodge, and resting. At evening, we will get a night walk. Sandoval Lake Full Day Exploring - Night Walking

8 hoursAdmission Ticket IncludedAfter breakfast, we will go out to the Tambopata National Reserve where we will walk about 5 km. Amidst the dense tropical jungle up to Sandoval Lake, one of the largest in the Tambopata Reserve, this lake offers a spectacular view of the landscape and many wild animals, very good for bird lovers and you will always see two or three species of monkeys. Typical lunch of the region, after lunch we will take a rowing boat ride and enjoy the wide variety of birds and monkeys of different species (shanshos, cormorants, jacanas, puma heron, howler monkeys, squirrel monkey, black capuchin monkey, tamarin monkey and sloth). With luck we will encounter a family of giant otters (nearly two meters long) and the largest recorded alligator measuring over 4 meters long. Back to the lodge and we can relax and enjoy the lodge's facilities, or go for a short walk. Before dinner a night walk to see insects, reptiles, nocturnal birds, and possibly some animals that we might come across during the hike.Lago Sandoval
5 hoursAdmission Ticket IncludedIn terms of ecotourism, Lake Sandoval is considered the most beautiful lake in the Peruvian rainforest. This lake covers an area of 3 km long by 1 km wide, and its depth ranges between half a meter and three meters. The lake is shaped like a crescent moon, and its waters generally reach a temperature of 26°C. Fauna. It is a wildlife sanctuary (giant otter or river wolf, black caiman, several species of macaws and parrots, kingfishers, turtles, monkeys, herons, and cranes, among other rainforest fauna). Local Farm - Fishing Activity - Native Community Experience

10 hoursAdmission Ticket IncludedAfter breakfast, we will have the opportunity to enjoy a guided walk to a traditional local farm. Explore the farm and learn about a variety of Amazonian crops such as cacao, cassava, bananas, papaya, pineapple, and other seasonal fruits. Your guide will explain traditional farming techniques, the uses of medicinal plants, and their sustainable way of life in the rainforest. Enjoy tasting fresh tropical fruits harvested directly from the farm, depending on the season. Continue with a traditional fishing activity, where you will have the opportunity to learn local fishing techniques and try catching fish in a nearby river or stream. Later, return to the lodge for lunch and resting. After, we will visit a native community, where you will meet a local family and learn about their traditions, culture, customs, handicrafts, and their close connection with the Amazon rainforest. Parrots and Parakeet´s Clay Lick - Puerto Maldonado

5 hoursAdmission Ticket IncludedEarly morning will get up starting 4:30 am for visit a Parrots clay lick that is about 1 hour upstream located, also best time to see sunrise, once will arrive we need to way for parrots to come from differents locations, that nature show will be aproximatly 30 minutes, in the way back will try to find some birds like toucans and with luck the ever sought after 2 and 3 toed sloth.
