Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a port city on the island of Tenerife, in the Canary archipelago (Spain). The old town has well-preserved buildings, such as the colonial church of the Immaculate Conception. The Palacio de Carta, from the 18th century, has elements of Baroque and Neoclassical styles. In the old Civil Hospital is the Museum of Nature and Man, which offers interactive exhibitions of the islands. Among the city's squares, the central Plaza de España stands out.

Taganana, which means surrounded by mountains in the language of the Guanches, the island's primitive aborigines, is the largest of them all, although widely scattered. Founded in 1501, after the territory was completely conquered from the natives, it is one of the oldest towns in Tenerife
