Trekking in Merzouga Desert - Erg Chebbi Dunes

  Pick up in your Riad or Hotel in the village of Merzouga and start of the 2-days adventure! Your guides will pack your equipment on the camels and we start the Trekking after your breakfast. We are hiking from Merzouga or Hassilabied through a palm grove in the shade of palm trees.

  After the visit of the Oasis of Hassilabied, we continue to walk about 2 h to the village of Khamlia. Here, you'll enjoy a local group's music and dance, and have the opportunity to try their instruments and learn to play some desert music of your own while drinking some original Berber Mint tea

  After visiting Khamlia Village we will walk about 20 minutes out of the village to look for a big Tamarisk tree, where we'll have our picnic lunch in the shade. Lunch break and time to relax, then continue towards Erg Chebbi for about 2 more Trekking hours.

  Now we’re almost at the dunes! After arriving at the big dunes of Erg Chebbi, you can choose to experience a one hour camel ride to reach the desert camp while the sun sinks down behind the dunes (also possible by foot). Enjoy your evening dining in a berber luxury tent camp, where you can look for shooting stars, sit at the camp fire and sleep in nomad tent! The tents are very luxurious with private bathrooms (shower and toilet) and luxury beds/bedding.
