Every geode looks similar on the outside, but its colour, cavity, and crystal pattern remain a mystery until the first crack. This fun 30-minute activity is ideal for families, couples, solo travellers, and anyone curious about gems.
With safety goggles, tools, and guidance from the museum team, you will learn how to strike each geode safely and effectively. Watch the plain brown stones split apart to reveal sparkling quartz crystals formed naturally over millions of years. Keep every broken piece from both geodes as a unique souvenir of your visit. You can also purchase an optional chain to turn a favourite quartz piece into a wearable necklace.

- Once a geode has been broken, it cannot be exchanged or refunded based on the resulting crystal appearance.
- Safety guidelines provided by the museum team must be followed at all times when using the tools.
- The recommended duration is approximately 30 minutes.
- Washroom facilities are available.
