Miradouro Da Senhora Do Monte
15 minsAdmission Ticket FreeViewpoint Senhora do Monte, located in the Graça district, offers a unique panorama, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful views of Lisbon, especially because it is one of the highest points in the city. The half-moon shape gives a broader view of Lisbon, from which you can see the Graça Church, the Tagus estuary and the other bank, São Jorge Castle and the roofs of Mouraria. Further on, the lower Pombaline, the ruins of the Convento do Carmo, the Serra de Monsanto and the Penha de França. These points are marked on a tiled panel in the viewpoint, so that visitors can identify the monuments.Castelo De Sao Jorge
1 hoursAdmission Ticket IncludedThe S. Jorge Castle - National Monument integrates the noble area of the old medieval citadel (alcazaba), consisting of the castle, the remains of the former royal palace and part of a residential area for elites. The first occupation of the hill where today stands St. George Castle dates from the 7th century BC. Originally a Moorish fortification, the castle became the royal residence after the conquest of the city by D. Afonso Henriques, remaining so until the royal family moved to Paço da Ribeira in 1503. As a military and civil structure, the castle underwent several transformations until the major restoration of 1938-40, which restored its medieval character and gave it the appearance we know today. Thanks to its privileged location, it is also one of Lisbon's finest viewpoints, offering magnificent views over the city. The castle owes its name to the patron saint of the English Crusaders, who helped Portugal's first king conquer the city from the Moors.Lisbon Cathedral

Afonso V (1432-81), driver of the first discoveries, Vasco da Gama (1460-1524) who discovered the Maritime Way to India, Pedro Álvares Cabral (1467-1520), discoverer of Brazil and Fernão de Magalhães, who crossed the Atlantic in 1520-21, among others.
