Had a great time with the friendly Pedro Morais and Carlos! Had a glimpse into the world of Port wines at two vineyards and enjoyed some breathtaking landscapes and scenery. A must do if you are in this part of the world!
Excellent living tours - superb guide and memorable experience
Great experience with Tanya and Victor.
The tour started with a visit to a single estate in the morning, followed by a river cruise that was, unfortunately, quite underwhelming. Although the tour was advertised as a small group (maximum 27 people), multiple groups from the same company were combined for the cruise, which made the experience feel crowded and far from intimate. Lunch was held at a second estate and was decent overall. There was free-flowing wine, but it didn’t feel like a proper tasting experience. Instead of guided tastings with explanations or notes, the wines were simply pre-poured (one red, one white, and one port), and we were left to drink them without much context or insight. If you’ve previously visited wineries or taken part in more structured vineyard tours, this experience may feel disappointing. There was very little education about the wines, their production, characteristics, or how to properly taste them. It all felt quite impersonal, like being moved along as part of a large group rather than enjoying a thoughtfully curated experience. Additionally, the tour felt rushed throughout, with the guide frequently mentioning that we were behind schedule. This added to the overall sense that everything was hurried and lacked depth. Overall, I would recommend spending a bit more for a smaller, more intimate tour with a stronger focus on quality and education, rather than opting for a larger tour operator.
We really enjoyed this day trip. Ricardo our guide was lots of fun and provided us with interesting information about the places we visited. The cruise could have been improved if a commentary was provided but it was still very relaxing and scenic. The lunch was tasty and they provided additional helpings to our table (the main course was shared amongst the table). Also they were very generous with the wine.
