We joined the Chiang Mai Good Vibes Journey as a family of 3 adults and 2 young children (both under 7). Overall, the experience had its highlights, but some parts may be better suited to couples than families with young kids. Our driver was punctual and polite, which we appreciated. However, unlike other tours we joined, we did not receive any prior message or email with the car plate number, so we weren’t sure which vehicle to look out for at pickup. This caused a bit of uncertainty at the start. Elefin Farm & Café was the most enjoyable stop for our family. The drive there involves many snaking turns, so those prone to motion sickness should be aware. Although we visited on a weekday, it was quite crowded, likely due to the December holiday period. We arrived around 11am, and most visitors were adults—there were fewer than 10 children around our kids’ age. There were ample seating areas, and the toilets were reasonably clean. We spent about 1 hour here, which felt too short for families with kids. The elephant feeding experience was definitely the highlight and something our children really enjoyed. Given the choice, we would have happily spent more time here. Next stop was Cypress Lanes, which is undeniably beautiful and very Instagram-worthy. It’s great for couples and photo-taking, but not ideal for young children. Kids don’t have much space to run freely, and we spent more time queueing for photos than actually enjoying the place. Knowing this in advance, we would have skipped Cypress Lanes and allocated more time to Elefin Farm instead. Our final stop was Baan Kang Wat, which we reached during lunch hour. Unfortunately, it was extremely crowded, with people almost shoulder-to-shoulder. While we could see that there were many arts and crafts activities suitable for children, the crowd made it difficult to enjoy the atmosphere, and we didn’t feel motivated to browse the shops. This stop also felt more suited to couples or visitors without young kids. Overall, this tour works well for couples or adults who enjoy scenic spots and photography. For families with young children, Elefin Farm is the standout, but the itinerary would benefit from better time allocation and clearer pre-pickup communication.
