06:00 am – Departure from the meeting point, in the center of Athens 09:30 am – Arrival at the shelter of Taygetos mountain (during the road trip, we will have a 20 minutes stop) 09:30 – 10:00 am – Preparation for the hike. The guide will give you all the necessary instructions and specific details of the path 10:00 am – Start of the hike to the top of the mountain. During our hike, we will have some small breaks. All the trail is rocky and we will cover 850 meters of altitude difference. After some point, we will have great views of the plain of Messinia, the Mani peninsula and other smaller mountains like the Broken mountain. A big part of the path is on limestone 13:00-13:30 pm – Reach the peak of Taygetos mountain at 2.407 meters! On the top, we will see the ruins of a small church of Prophet Elias. We will spend at least half an hour to enjoy our picnic there and take a lot of photos! 13:30-14:00 pm – Start the descent to the shelter and the starting point. 16:00-16:30 pm – Arrival at the shelter and rest 17:00 pm – Departure for a close village in order to have our lunch. 18:30 pm – Departure for Athens 21:30-22:30 pm – Arrival in the center of Athens and your hotel.
