What Can Fans Expect at Visions of Magic

So, Potterheads, you’ve been dying to step into the magical world of Harry Potter: Visions of Magic.

But does it do justice to the Wizarding World we all know and love?

Well, no Veritaserum is needed from us here.

We’ll give you the lowdown on everything you can expect from this immersive art experience, from Butterbeer to the Chamber of Secrets.

Here’s a breakdown of the ten gorgeously designed environments that’ll enchant you, as experienced by yours truly, the Pelago team.

Harry Potter Visions of Magic Details

  • Dates: From 22 November 2024 onwards (for a limited time)

  • Location: Forum, Level B1, Resorts World Sentosa

  • Opening Hours: Daily, 10am - 11pm, Last entry 9pm

Is the Exhibition Worth the Magic?

Whether you're a hardcore Potterhead or a casual fan with little knowledge of Hogwarts, the exhibition is definitely worth it.

The setup is intricate and detailed, and the projections perfectly capture the magic that J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World is famous for.

Plus, you get interactive wands - how cool is that?

Who knows, you might find yourself waving yours and chanting Wingardium Leviosa or Expecto Patronum before you know it!

As for the duration of the Harry Potter: Visions of Magic experience, you can expect to spend around 60 to 90 minutes, depending on how many photos you take and how quickly you choose to move through the exhibition.

Ten Riddikulusly Fun & Interactive Zones: What to See & Do

The experience begins with you receiving your wand, which you'll need throughout.

You’ll get your very own Hogwarts letter delivered via owl, a la Hedwig-style.

Don’t forget to take a photo to remember the moment!

After a quick visual explanation of how to use the wand, you’ll be whisked away to the Knight Bus.

From that point on, you'll discover evocative, and interactive art experiences inspired by all the familiar places in the films (plus its most mysterious corners).

Needless to say, our inner kids were screaming with excitement.

The Knight Bus

Remember the Knight Bus? It’s the quirky, purple, triple-decker that Harry hopped on after leaving Privet Drive in The Prisoner of Azkaban.

You can snap an Instagram-worthy photo on one of the bunk beds inside the bus (which also vibrates, just like the rocky ride in the movie!).

Pro tip: Be quick with your photos - the audiovisual effects only happen once. But don’t worry, you’ll definitely have time to snap your pictures.

Afterward, you’ll be escorted to Grimmauld Place, the next zone.

Grimmauld Place

Ah, Grimmauld Place, the historic home of the notorious Black family.

Explore the ultra-detailed family tree and play around with the framed photos on the wall for a Siriusly good motion graphic experience.

Ministries of Magic

Ever wanted to step into the fabled halls of the Ministry of Magic, just like Ron, Harry, and Hermione did after drinking Polyjuice Potion?

Well, you don’t have to drink any nasty concoction to enjoy this wonderfully detailed zone.

There are projections on the walls for each ministry - Paris, New York, and London - and part of the fun is guessing which ministry you’re in.

The Hall of Prophecy (Pelago Pick)

One of the Pelago team's favourite rooms, think of this zone as like ArtScience Museum's Future World exhibition meeting Harry Potter.

You know what that means?

An incredibly Instagrammable or TikTok-worthy spot (whichever your social channel of choice) for you to ramp up your content production.

Pro tip: Make a beeline for the orbs with the swirl symbols. Point your wand at them, and what’s cool is that your favourite HP characters will start "speaking" to you.

The Chamber of Secrets (Singapore Exclusive)

Ready to brush up on your Parseltongue?

You're going to need it as you step into the ultra-cool Chamber of Secrets – which is a Singapore-exclusive exhibition, by the way (yay for us!).

This mechanical contraption is the only one of its kind in the Visions of Magic exhibition, with physical snakes (of course, they're not real) moving on an actual door.

Once you get in, get ready for some hiss-terical fun.

Picture slithering sounds, massive snake statues, a giant Salazar Slytherin sculpture, and grungy light projections illuminating the room.

Who says you need to be the "Heir of Slytherin" to work your magic on the door and find Tom Riddle's diary?

Pro tip: Try your best to find the basilisk fang!

Newt’s Menagerie

When it comes to fantastic beasts and where to find them, look no further than Newt's Menagerie.

You can feast your eyes on all sorts of incredible creatures, from Occamys to Nifflers and Kelpies to Grindylows.

Pro tip: Like many of the other exhibits, don't forget to look up. You'll find Newt's iconic suitcase, which you can even activate with your wand.

Knockturn Alley (Pelago Pick)

For eerie vibes that’ll give you the heebie-jeebies, Knockturn Alley is a standout in the Harry Potter: Visions of Magic exhibition.

Not to mention, this zone was one of the Pelago team’s favourites, with its shadowy corners, wanted posters, and mysterious figures.

Pro tip: Grab a partner and use both of your wands to summon the Dark Mark in the sky for a teeny taste of what it’s like to be a Death Eater.

The Room of Requirement

We might not have the Room of Requirement in real life.

But this one’s a pretty magical substitute for living out our Hogwarts dreams.

You’ll find towers of wizardly clutter, plus fan favourites like the Sorting Hat, Golden Snitch, and Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw!

The Trap Door (Singapore Exclusive)

Another Singapore exclusive at the Harry Potter: Visions of Magic exhibition lets you come face-to-face with the ferocious yet adorable three-headed Fluffy to reach the Philosopher's Stone.

You’ll also encounter the Devil’s Snare and the room of winged keys here.

Pro tip: This room is quite dark, so use your wand to summon light on the walls as you explore.

The Pensieve

And last but not least, you’ll wrap up your Harry Potter experience at the Pensieve, going full-on Dumbledore as you explore “memories” of the Hogwarts world.

This stunning 360-degree zone will hit you right in the feels, with projections of your favourite movie scenes all around.

Feeling artsy? You can even “create” strings of magic on immersive walls.

And don’t miss the short show at the end featuring Voldemort and Harry’s epic battle.

Gulp Down Butterbeer

Have you truly experienced a Harry Potter event if you haven’t tried the iconic Wizarding World beverage, Butterbeer?

Good news is you can grab yours at the kiosk at the end of the exhibition.

And once you’ve had your fill, treat yourself to some sweet snacks and treats.

You can choose from adorable house-themed cupcakes and charming Niffler or Hedwig macarons.

Grab Exclusive Harry Potter Merchandise

Not feeling hungry? No worries, you can still snag some exclusive merch!

The quality’s solid albeit slightly pricey – glass wands start at SGD 70, and you can grab a Visions of Magic mug for SGD 25.

But if you're going to splurge on something, we’d say go for the stylish sweaters and t-shirts from the four Hogwarts Houses – the Hufflepuff one is definitely a standout, if you ask us.

And of course, there are plenty of cute little knick-knacks to check out, like huggable Hedwig and Niffler plushies, plus some Hogwarts-themed notebooks.

Planning Your Visit to Resorts World Sentosa

The exhibition is on Sentosa Island, and the easiest way to get there is by taking the Sentosa Express train from VivoCity Level 3 (SGD 4).

Just hop off at Resorts World Station and head down to the Forum at Basement 1.

If you’re up for a walk, you can skip the train and enjoy a free 16-minute stroll from Harbourfront MRT to the island.

If you're driving, stick to the left lane on Sentosa Gateway, drive down the slope to the Resorts World Sentosa Car Park, then take a right into the tunnel marked "Cars/Taxis."

Follow the signs to "B1 East" and you'll be all set to park at the underground car park. Simple as that.

Our Verdict: Definitely a Must-See If You're a Fan!

Harry Potter: Visions of Magic is a must-visit for fans of the Wizarding World, with its captivating wonders and immersive environments that’ll take your breath away.

With its stunning multimedia installations and unique interactive wand experience, it’s a real treat for diehard Potterheads or casual Muggle fans.

Either way, this Harry Potter exhibition is one to keep an eye out for.
