Train Transportation Options

You can take the JR Sagano Line from Kyoto Station and hop off at Saga-Arashiyama Station after 15 minutes. Next, follow the signs (or the hard-to-miss tourists!) at Saga-Arashiyama Station to find your way to Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. The walk from Saga-Arashiyama Station should take another 15 minutes.

Alternatively, you can take the Hankyu Railway from Kyoto-Kawaramachi or Karasuma Station to Katsura Station and transfer to the Hankyu Arashiyama Line to head to Hankyu Arashiyama Station. Once there, board the 28 City Bus towards Daikakuji Temple and take a short 7-minute walk to Arashiyama Bamboo Grove.
