This guide is for you if you are:
Wondering why your preferred date is not showing when trying to book
Checking if a specific date is available for booking, or released yet
Asking if tickets for a future month or year (e.g., December 2025) have been released
Curious why you can only see dates up to a certain point on the booking calendar
We’ll explain the most common reasons why certain dates may not appear and what it means for your booking!
Sometimes your preferred date may not appear when booking an activity or ticket. This can happen for a few reasons:
Possible Reasons
The date is not yet released for booking
Many activities or tickets are only made available a few weeks in advance. The release schedule depends on the provider
The date is fully booked
Popular dates can sell out quickly. If your date isn’t available, it may already be sold out
The date is outside the booking window
Some activities only allow bookings within a specific range of dates.
The date is temporarily unavailable
Occasionally, dates may be unavailable due to maintenance, provider restrictions, or technical updates.
Provider-controlled scheduling
Many experiences, tickets, and events on Pelago are managed directly by providers. They decide which dates and times are open for booking, which can sometimes delay the availability of long-term bookings (for example, cruises or seasonal events).
Real-time system updates
Our booking system updates availability in real time. Occasionally, a date may temporarily appear unavailable due to syncing or system updates, even if it was shown as open earlier.
Understanding unavailable dates when booking
A specific date is not selectable
This may indicate a holiday closure, irregular closure, or the activity is fully booked for this day and the experience provider is no longer accepting new bookings (7, 8 and 9 April in the example below). For example, during high-demand periods such as holidays (e.g., December 25–January 1), providers may take longer to finalize schedules, delaying the availability of bookings. Periodic checks can help secure these dates once they are released.
Tomorrow or the following day is not selectable
This means that the activity must be booked at least several days in advance for the experience provider to confirm the booking.
A pattern of dates is not selectable
This indicates a regular business closure. The experience provider in the below example operates on Tuesdays and Saturdays only.
The calendar will not display further dates
The calendar will only show up to the furthest date bookable at the time of checking. How far ahead you can book is dependent on the experience provider. Bookings for most activities open 2 to 4 months in advance.
In the below example, 31 May is the furthest date that can be booked at this time.
What You Can Do
Check back later: The date may not be released yet. Try again closer to your preferred date
Try nearby dates: Other dates around your preferred one might still be open
Set reminders: Popular dates fill quickly, so keep checking for new availability
Refresh the page: If dates appear unbookable, refresh or try during non-peak hours. System updates may cause temporary delays.
