If you made an onboard booking offer during your Disney Cruise — known as a Placeholder Reservation — you can apply it to a future sailing through Pelago. This article explains how the process works and what you'll need to provide.
What is a Placeholder Reservation?
A Placeholder Reservation is a future cruise offer available exclusively onboard a Disney Cruise Line sailing. It's created through the Disney Navigator App during your voyage, secured with a US$250 deposit per stateroom (maximum 2 staterooms per household per sail date).
Once created, it gives you up to 24 months from the deposit date to convert it into a confirmed booking on a future sailing — and it retains an onboard discount that applies to most Disney Cruise Line itineraries.
A Placeholder Reservation is not a confirmed booking. No sailing is reserved until you complete the conversion process and the remaining balance is paid.
Before you start — eligibility
To transfer your Placeholder Reservation to Pelago, please confirm the following:
Your Placeholder Reservation must have been created onboard via the Disney Navigator App
The reservation must not already be paid in full — fully paid reservations are not eligible for a transfer
The reservation must be within its 24-month validity window
You'll need your Placeholder Reservation Number (provided at the time of your onboard booking)
How to transfer your Placeholder Reservation to Pelago
To have Pelago act as your travel advisor for the booking, you'll need to authorise a transfer by completing the Disney Cruise Line Booking Transfer Request Form (All Destinations).
What you need to do
Contact us via chat and let us know you'd like to apply your Placeholder Reservation to a future sailing through Pelago. Share your Placeholder Reservation Number and which sailing you have in mind.
We'll send you the Booking Transfer Request Form. Fill in the Reservation Details section: your Reservation Number, lead guest name, and arrival/departure date.
Sign and date the authorisation section of the form. Only one adult on the reservation needs to sign.
Return the signed form to us. We'll handle submission to Disney Cruise Line from there.
Submission deadline
The completed transfer form must reach Disney Cruise Line at least 7 days before the arrival date of the sailing you're booking. Please contact us well in advance to allow time for processing.
Your onboard discount
The discount associated with your Placeholder Reservation is retained when you complete your booking through Pelago. The exact discount rate and final fare will be confirmed by Disney Cruise Line at the point of conversion for your specific sailing — we'll share these details with you before you pay the remaining balance.
Approval and timing
All transfer requests are subject to Disney Cruise Line's approval at their sole discretion. While we'll submit your form promptly, we're unable to guarantee a specific processing time from Disney Cruise Line's side. We'll keep you updated as soon as we hear back.
If your Placeholder Reservation is with another travel agency
If your Placeholder Reservation is currently registered under a different travel agency, an additional step is required before Pelago can take over: the manager or owner of that agency must send Disney Cruise Line a signed written letter authorising the release of your booking to Pelago. Once Disney Cruise Line confirms receipt of that letter, we can proceed with the transfer as normal.
