The route leads through idyllic, medieval towns and their picturesque landscapes with a stopover in Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital, which has in recent years become one of the most popular city destinations in Europe. Continue to the Notranjska region, where we recommended a visit the world-famous Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle. Entering the Karst area, you will cycle on quiet, easy and scenic paved roads through vineyards and ancient villages, where you can taste the famous Teran red wine and Karst ham. After the Lipica stud farm with its famous Lipizaner white horses and Škocjan caves with Europe’s largest underground canyon, you will reach the Slovenian part of the Istrian peninsula.
