Begin of the Trip

• Meeting of Waters(Melintasi)

  The journey begins when we pick you up in Manaus. We head to Ceasa Port, where we board a speedboat, with a first stop along the Rio Negro River to the Meeting of the Waters. The trip will continue with a 1-hour car drive to a small village called Cachoeira do Castanho. From the Village, you’ll continue by speedboat on a 20to 30 -30-minute ride (depending on the level of the waters during your visit) to Jacareubau Creek to the floating deck to get in the water to interact with the Pick River dolphins with river dolphins, after we will continue by boat to the other side of the river to visit the Tatuyos indigenous village where you will participate in the ritual welcome dance and learn more about there culture. back to the Boat and navigate up the Rio negro for about 1 hour to the Lodge. Upon arriving at the lodge at 12:30 pm, you will be welcomed with refreshments as your accommodations are prepared.

  Lunch is served at noon, and then there will be some time to relax and prepare things for the first day’s activities. At 3:00 pm, the group will depart by motorized canoe to fish for piranhas, watch colorful birds, and enjoy an incredible sunset from the middle of the river. After returning to the lodge, dinner will be served at 7:00 pm.

  Tapiri Rio Negro Lodge is based on private rooms, with air conditioning and a private bathroom with mosquito nets.
