Our guide, Tee, was amazing! He is probably the best tour guide in all of Vietnam. Having said that, I feel sorry for him to be working in an old almost decrepit boat. Understand that we get what we paid for and we expected the boat to be old and traditional, but we were hoping that it should at least be in good condition. You can see everywhere it is not. On top of that, airconditioning is only on after dinner until 7AM. Worse, and this I did not expect as I have held Vietnamese cuisine to the highest standard and quality, food that was served in the food was not up to par. Ditto, the staff in the boat need a lot of customer service training. They seem to be annoyed by what they are doing. But hey, Ha Long Bay was really pretty and again, we were lucky to have Tee as our guide. In the end though, I do not recommend this particular boat.
